On not to step on someone's toes

I am too afraid of offending people, even in the slightest way. 

Sometimes, when I collaborate with another colleague, I always have been like keeping the fence tall and never crossing the line. This somewhat held me back from demonstrating my contributions,  a lot of which are sometimes critical.
